Delwin Kamara
Hailing from Sierra Leone, Delwin Kamara is a photographer and artist based in New York City, whose evocative work spans fashion photography, documentary, and portraiture. As a child, Delwin developed a passion for painting. Delwin’s early artwork was largely influenced by the classics —especially Caravaggio— and his notable use of tenebrism. He moved on to experimenting with photography, documenting moments that caught his attention as he moved through life. Now, Delwin channels his early experiences of searching for meaningful moments and his admiration for fine art, into images that celebrate the beauty and individuality of his subjects. His distinct eye for faces and human stories led him to become a sought-after photographer for clients such as 10 Magazine, V Magazine, French Magazine, Citizen Magazine, Wonderland Magazine, and The Motif. Whether capturing the vibrant street style of Harlem, the intimacy of a quiet park moment, or the vehement dissent of a protest, Delwin’s artistry is marked by a profound empathy and a commitment to elevating diverse narratives through his lens.
